As a top tier quantitative software engineer, you will perform and provide the following:

  • Technical consulting on our data and cloud based systems and tools
  • Formulate and define specifications for complex operating software programming applications
  • Modify and maintain existing applications releases and using custom, vendor, or service oriented utilities
  • Design, code, debug, test, and document application components
  • Perform quality assurance review and/or evaluate new and existing software products
  • Implement and develop software application tools and API libraries across all of our ALM programs
  • Research, learn, and apply new technologies that can improve performance and minimize operational downtime
  • Automate processes to streamline and reduce touch points
  • Design, implement, and enforce development governance controls and procedures Develop and provide unit, integration, and regression tests
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and patch application and platform issues
  • Undertake broader special research and development projects as needed
  • Collaborate with Enterprise, Technology, and Experience (ETX) to manage the underlying data

Skills and qualifications

  • Strong understanding of databases, cloud computing, and software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of fixed income and derivative asset modelling
  • Degree in math, statistics, computer science, quantitative finance, or engineering
  • Programming fluency in Python, SQL, and VBA
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a market risk setting at an insurance company, asset manager, bank, or hedge fund
  • Familiarity with insurance company fixed income asset-liability management principles
  • Full stack engineer with backend experience
  • Graduate degree from top tier school
